Adopt-A-Family Drive

Everyone knows how much the Ronald McDonald House of Charities does for families in need. But have you ever thought of what it means to that particular family and how they respond? The Walker family is extremely grateful after living at the house for three months while they were in and out of the NICU. Everywhere around them they would receive small acts of kindness. A day in particular to the Walker family was when they came home from a hard day at the hospital there was a small gift of hand cream and body products in their mailbox. The family was overwhelmed with gratitude and amazed that somebody thought of them. But that is just what the Ronald McDonald House stands for. Thinking of you when you need it, giving you the support when you feel like nothing is right, and making sure you are cared for when your only job is to care for your child. With the Ronald McDonald House supporting the Walker family, they decided it is time to pay it forward. The Walker family created the Adopt-A-Family drive. The family is asking people to make a donation of $10. Money raised will buy families gifts similar to what the Walkers received as well as toys for the playrooms. The Walkers son is healthy now and released for good. However, Mrs. Walker believes it is even more important to continue to give, because there are so many families that will be in their shoes for years and years to come. Mrs. Walker knows that it is a small gesture but also knows it will go a long way. Walker states that “if people can just know that they are being thought of, then our mission has been completed.” We encourage you to donate $10 to Adopt-A-Family because you never know how much it can affect a family and make them feel so loved on some of their worst days.
