RMHC Community Event
Light Up The House with RMHC of Nashville
The goal of this fundraiser is to raise $50,000! With every donation made, the outside of our house will be illuminated with Christmas lights in celebration of the gracious acts of the Nashville community. The festive lights will be on beginning December 9, and will continue to stay on throughout the holidays.
That's why we feel RMHC of Nashville is so important," says the News 2 team. "We want to eliminate as many of these worries as possible so families can focus on what matters most - their sick child.
"Your support helps provide a safe and comfortable place for families to come back after a long day at the hospital, to a nourishing meal waiting for them in the kitchen, a community of fellow families, and so much more."
The news channel will be offering multiple ways for viewers and Nashville residents to donate to our charity. This is a wonderful opportunity for residents of the Music City to help make a different in the lives of families whose children are battling pediatric illnesses.
Residents of Nashville will be demonstrating their support for our organization by placing holiday signs in their yards. These holiday signs come with any donation greater than $30 to the Ronald McDonald House of Nashville, and its purpose is to extend the light of love beyond our Nashville House and into the community.
With a donation of $100 or more, you will receive a special edition Light Up The House ornament. These steel holiday ornaments are hand crafted by Hobby Robbie, a craftsman from Kentucky who's family utilized the Ronald McDonald House family room at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
Nashville residents may also sign up to be a "Light of Love," or someone who sets a goal of raising $1,000. A Light of Love encourages others to donate and they can create a page on News 2's Raise Love website.
The Light Up the House event hosted by News 2 of Nashville is a fantastic display of how we connect with local communities across the nation in hopes of providing a safe and comforting place for families to stay during their times of need.
Events like these create a greater relationship between the Ronald McDonald House and the local communities they serve, all while acting for a greater purpose.
