Care-kits for COVID-19 Workers
During these tumultuous times, the Ronald McDonald House in Morgantown wanted to show appreciation for the healthcare heroes at Ruby Memorial Hospital. WBOY-TV captured our act of kindness and we couldn't have been happier for the opportunity to showcase the impact of our support for the healthcare heroes. Our partnership with the hospital has helped a tremendous amount of families and it was now time to show them that their work is valued greatly. A team of volunteers made and donated nearly 200 thank you kits to the hospital which included prepackaged snacks, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner and notes of gratitude. “We really appreciate those front liners. It’s making a significant difference as we try to mitigate COVID-19 and make our community safe again,” says Eleanor Reigel, Executive Director for the Pittsburgh and Morgantown Ronald McDonald House Charities.
From the time the pandemic hit, our Ronald McDonald House team acted quickly to ensure that the CDC guidelines were being followed. We prioritize the safety of our guests and took it upon us to do everything possible to establish protocols that make our guests feel safe and comfortable during their stay. Although volunteers are currently not allowed inside the house, there are ways for people to volunteer and donate to RMHC through our website here.
